Introducing Somatic Experiencing\u00ae with Ariel Giarretto<\/h2>\n

Somatic Experiencing\u00ae, the method of trauma healing developed by Dr. Peter Levine, offers a new and hopeful vision on Trauma. It is a naturalistic approach that unravels and reveals the mystery of human trauma, and outlines concrete steps needed to heal trauma.<\/p>\n

Trauma, Levine said, is in the nervous system, not in the event, and occurs when an overwhelming experience becomes frozen in time. The residual energy, which arose during the event and was not discharged from the body, remains trapped in the nervous system where it causes damage to our body and mind.<\/p>\n

Ariel Giarretto<\/h3>\n

This SE\u00ae Intro has a special topic \u201cSexual Trauma\u201d and is led by Ariel Giarretto<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ariel Giarretto, MS, SE faculty and somatic sex educator brings many years of experience as an SE teacher while specializing in the treatment of couples and individuals affected by sexual trauma. Ariel will provide an overview of the Somatic Experiencing trauma treatment model, and then discuss how SE understands and treats the effects of sexual trauma. There will also be some experiential exercises and time for questions.<\/p>\n

The workshop lasts 2 days and offers the basic knowledge of SE\u00ae in a combination of theory and practice. You can participate in this workshop out of interest, curiosity. If you are considering starting the SE\u00ae training, EASE (European Association for Somatic Experiencing) requires that you follow the introduction.<\/p>\n

Objectives of the workshop<\/h3>\n

To outline a general picture of what trauma is, its origins and consequences, and the specific contribution of SE\u00ae. Offer tools for the self-regulation of the nervous system, in order to be present with more possibilities in the here and now.<\/p>\n

If you cancel within 4 weeks before the start of the course, we will charge an administrative fee of \u20ac20. Cancellations within 2 weeks before the start will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the registration amount, and cancellations in the last week before the start will be charged the full amount.<\/p>\n
