Giselle Genillard

Giselle Genillard, oprichter en directeur van SOS INTERNATIONALE, is een gekwalificeerde verloskundige, lid van de European Association of Body Psychotherapy (EABP), beoefenaar in somatic experience (SE)®, lid van de International Association of Structural Integrators (IASI), Touch- in-Parenting-instructeur en oprichter en bestuurssecretaris van EASE, de European Association for Somatic Experiencing.

Ze combineert haar opleiding tot somatisch therapeut met de kunst van de verloskunde, de fundamentele principes van Somatic Experiencing (SE) ® en haar talrijke interculturele ervaringen. Ze werkt internationaal, is meertalig en was lid van traumateams in het zuidoosten van India na de tsunami, New Orleans na Katrina en het postkoloniale Zuid-Afrika na de onafhankelijkheid. Giselle introduceerde de SE-training van Peter Levine (‘Waking the Tiger’) in Groot-Brittannië en Frankrijk, waar ze workshops geeft over traumatische stress. Giselle is gespecialiseerd in de behandeling van posttraumatische stress bij jonge kinderen, adolescenten, strijders, stressvolle situaties en internationale rampen.

Begin jaren tachtig raakte Giselle sterk geïnteresseerd in de politiek van de bevalling en het werk van Michel Odent, die haar vroedvrouw en mentor werd. Giselle heeft geprobeerd haar uitgebreide kennis van fysieke genezing uit te breiden naar een alomvattende en holistische benadering van psychologische genezing. Giselle’s levensreis heeft haar uit de eerste hand ervaring gegeven met de fysieke, emotionele, sociale en politieke verwoesting van trauma, en een sterke inzet om de verspreiding ervan te voorkomen. Haar werk richt zich op de transformatie die kan optreden als trauma wordt opgelost, en de talloze voordelen die daaruit voortvloeien voor jezelf, de samenleving en de wereld als geheel.
